On March 14, 2010 the Eastern Native Tree
Society and Western Native Tree Society switched from
discussion lists on Google Groups to a new discussion
list in a Bulletin Board format at:
http://www.ents-bbs.org/index.php
Posts made since the inception of the BBS on March 14,
2010 will be sorted and archived on the BBS. Click on
the link to go to the equivalent section on the new BBS.
This website will continue to serve as a front end for
the ENTS and WNTS groups. It will continue to serve as a
repository of older posts, and will serve as the host
site for special projects and features that are not well
suited for a BBS format. Please visit the BBS for the
latest information and trip reports. |

Some "digitized" Norway spruce photos ENTS: Oops, I forget the
order, but I think it is clear. Of the first two, one is of a
pair of "bride and groom" trees in front of an old house in
Hyattstown, MD. Since I took the photo, lightning destroyed one

Norway spruce at the Virginia Arboretum near ENTS: A short while ago we had
an active topic on Norway spruce. At one point one member posted

Well, now I am, and here they are....

A nice white oak tree ENTS: I am just seeeing if I
can send my pics one at a time. I am not sure about the size of
the pic here, but maybe "one-at-a-time" is the best way to go.
This is a nice tree in front of the Episcopal Church in
Millwood, VA, not far from Winchester. I measured it, but didn't
write down the number. I think it was 17' 5" CBH....

Vernon. It rained/sleet/snowed most of the time and when it
cleared the grounds were closed- including the area I was most
interested in visiting; the "Forest Trail". Oh well, another
trip is planned for this...

Alexandria "Bicentennial Oak"
NTS, Jeff, On January 14th I was awaiting the
arrival of a friend in Alexandria, VA. With some time to
kill I took a walk in a neighborhood park. On a map of the
park was a spot named “Bicentennial Tree” about ¼ mile away.
Needless to say, I bee-lined it in the limited time I had to
see what it was. The crown...
