Weather and Climate
On March 14, 2010 The Eastern Native Tree Society and Western Native
Tree Society switched from discussion lists on Google Groups to a new
discussion list in a Bulletin Board format at:
http://www.ents-bbs.org/index.php Posts made since the
inception of the BBS on march 14, 2010 will be sorted and archived on
the BBS. Click on the link above to go to the equivalent section on the
new BBS. This website will continue to serve as a front end for the ENTS
and WNTS groups. It will continue to serve as a repository of older
posts, and will serve as the host site for special projects and features
that are not well suited for a BBS format. Please visit the BBs for the
latest information and trip reports.

humanity and take steps to abate the problem....

Climate change Hello Everyone, I little
over a week ago I asked my friend Dr. Lee Frelich if he
would consider summarizing some of the best sources of
information on climate change and the main arguments that
favor the current hypothesis of anthropogenic cause for the
rise in CO2 levels. I fully realized Lee has a very busy
schedule, and at first was hesitant to ask, but I saw a
genuine need to shine the light of objectivity onto the
subject for ENTS members and others involved in the Forest
Futures debates. As everyone in the list knows, Lee is a
highly respected scientist who is frequently called upon to
give expert testimony on the effects of climate change,
however it happens, on forests and individual tree species.
Lee's position or income does not depend on being on one
side or the other of the climate change debate. He is a
cool-headed scientist who follows the data and he will not
throw his hat into the ring of impassioned individuals who
spend their time battling it out over the Internet. But Lee
has always been very gracious about responding to questions
for the good of ENTS members....
