ENTS: The Hemlock Woolly Adelgid has been confirmed in Parkersburg,
Wood County West Virginia. This is the first County bordering
Ohio(River) in which HWA has been confirmed since making its West
Virginia appearance in the Eastern Panhandle in 1992. It also means
it has skipped westward proabably a good 50 air miles since the last
assessment.
Is this the week of the HWA symposium in CT?

Turner:

That is very sad news. I spotted a tree with HWA in Weston in Lewis County
a couple of months ago but I thought that was as far west as they had gotten.
Now that they are in the Ohio River Valley there is no telling how fast the
spread will be.

Turner,

Thanks for the info on Ohio River Valley appearance of
HWA. If there is one thing that I'm going to do this
year is get to Hemlock Cliffs in Hoosier National
Forest. From what I gather they have a ravine there
that has isolated hemlocks. Someone needs to document
them.

Beth,

This looks like a really nice place to visit. Maybe you can get around
to documenting those isolated hemlocks. We will be awaiting your post!
