As to be expected the article is rather shallow, but it did
mention the
huge scope of the job: 60-80 million acres of our federal lands
need
restoration forestry (thinnings, prescribed burning, etc.). It
doesn't
say how many acres they are treating every year. Does anyone
know that
number?
But they lost me when they mentioned "green certification" so I
had to
leave a comment.
Why are many people supporting the FSC monopoly? If we have
strong
forestry laws and they are strictly enforced, there is no need
for
certification. It was only meant for large industrial forest
lands.
