Hey everyone I glad we got the new site !!  Anyways I wanted to show
you one of the Loblolly pines that fell at our service roads.   We are
going to use the tree cookies to provide more interpretation for
Congaree Nation Park.

  

So I cut 3 cookie out of the pine about 3 foot
up then took them to a man in Columbia, S.C., that dries wood in a big
kennel.  When I got it back it crack half way the cookie was still
good to use.  I hope to get them in the visitor center soon from
memory I counted 172 rings I think anyway I thought you would like to
know.
