Reeds Gap State Park is located in Mifflin County, PA. I visited
this
area several times between 1998 and 2001. Here are my notes:
The park grounds contain a strip of old hemlock and white pine
along
Honey Creek, a stream that powered a saw mill in the late 19th
century.
Extensive cutting occurred in the surrounding area, but it
appears trees
in the vicinity of the saw mill were left standing. These
include many
impressive white pine with dbhs greater than 32 inches and
heights well
in excess of 100 feet.
