ENTS,
Dale, Ed
I measured two trees the other night at Pendle Hill, a Quaker
school\retreat center near my home. One tree is an American
Beech that was listed in the 1982 edition of Penn's Woods. It is
an open grown specimen that may be the state champion, depending
on the status of the 1993 champ in Bala Cynwyd (also near me)
It's measurements are as follows.
CBH 1965-196" 1982- 230" 2005- 262"@3'
Height 91'
average spread of 101'
largest spread 108'
total points 378
The other was a very nicely cared for Hemlock. This tree
recieves an annual dose of 2% horticultural oil in October. It
measured as follows.
CBH 158" 13.2'
Height 99'
average spread 59'
largest spread 66'
total points 272
