I stopped by a site at Concord road and Redhill Road in Aston twp that used to be owned by a ship captain in the 1800's. Ed, the site is . The site is park like on about 4 acres. The remnants of his collection are still present. The list reads like most Victorian collections.

Hinoki Cypress
Pendant Linden
Pin Oak
Saucer Magnolia
English Walnut
Pond Cypress
Japanese False Cypress
Hemlock
White Pine
Horse Chestnut
Osage Orange
Umbrella Magnolia
Arborvitae

I measured a few of the stand outs:

Pendant Linden 17.7 CBH 70' tall 77' spd new state co champ
Pond cypress 6.7 CBH 63.2' tall 15' spread
Hinoki cypress 8.3 CBH 58.7' tall 36' spread new state co champ
Pink flowering american dogwood 6.2 CBH 34' tall 42' spread new state co champ for dogwood, only pink flowering one reported.
I measured the pin oak too, but the numbers are at work. It was a new state co champ also.

I have been trying to get my organization to purchase this plot before it gets developed as the original house burned a long time ago. A very nice old lady owns it now. She lives in the old tenant house to the mansion.
