ENTS,
Last week I located a large forest grown pignut hickory that is
growing on
my uncles property which is not far from Ludwigs Corner in Chester
Co., Pa.
Saturday I returned with my brother to get some measurements. It's
9'1" x
126' x 71'. It's max spread is 80' and scores 253 pts. It's a new
runner-up to the state champ. This woodlot is +/- 100 acres, I'm
guessing,
with several different owners. It is an excellent place to do a
Rucker
Index. I have spent a lot of time in these woods but it's been 10+
years
since I last walked in them. There may be a few more surprises in
it yet.
I'll be maintaining my uncles property this year so I'll have plenty
of time
to explore. Photos are of the pignut and a large double stem
chestnut oak.
