I have driven along the road at Sandy Hook many times for meetings, etc.,
and have always admired the deep dark green wall of the holly forest. It
looks truly impenetrable from the road. I have never walked inside the
forest, but maybe someday.

Carolyn,

If you do, post it. That is one I would plan on. Seeing a forest in
which holly is the dominent tree would be really beautiful.

You can see 500 different collected Hollies, all big, at the Klein
Nursery in Edgewood KY near Louisville. Only two of each variety as
Theodore Klein collected them over a 60 year period to test Holly for
commercial production. It's an amazing site to see this grove all
planted in neat rows with all the different species in one site.

Treefarmer,

This I would like to see. It has been some time since I have been to
Louisville.

ENTS,

Does anyone know of another forest besides Sandy Hook where American
Holly is the dominant tree?
