The day I took these photos was during a particularly bad time for South Jersey with forest fires. If memory serves, that day a friend and I climbed a fire tower and went inside the cab and hung out with the watcher for a while. I remember pointing to one particular spot where I saw smoke coming up, and asked him where it was. It turned out to be in the woods where the street I live on is a dirt road.
 
Anyway, this fire in the pictures was a pretty big one. I think this was in the late 1990s, but I can't remember for sure. In the forth picture you can see cranberry bogs in the foreground.
