ENTS,
On Saturday, I had a solo day in MTSF to check
on old tree friends
and add data for the species that I measure only sparingly. I
didn't
find anything to increase the Rucker index, nor did I expect to.
I did
add 3 white ash trees between 120 and 125 feet, three black
birches
between 100 and 104 feet, 4 sugar maples between 113 and 121
feet, 4
hemlocks between 100 and 113 feet, 2 white pines both just over
137, an
American beech just over 100, a white birch just over 93,
another just
over 85, etc., etc., etc. In other words, pretty normal stuff.
The new
data confirms existing species trends for Mohawk. Nothing new to
see
here folks, time to move on.
