ENTS:
A brief 4th of July excursion by Gary Beluzo
and me to see a noteworthy
silver maple at the edge of a private home produced these
surprising numbers.
Height Girth
92.6' 19.8'
The silver maple is gorgeous tree. It is not a
cheater in any way. Its crown
spread averages fully 95 feet. We measured it at 96.
The silver maple is yet another very large
member of its species growing in
western Massachusetts. So far, it is the largest girth species
that we have in
terms of numbers of large trees.
