Barry, ENTS,
a couple weekends ago I went to the Arnold Arboretum with my
wife, Ellen. Naturally I just had to measure their nice dwarf
chinquapin oak or dwarf chestnut oak. It was 21.25' tall as
measured with my telescoping pole, 2.41' in girth and it had an
average crown spread of 23' (max was 26'). The date on the label
was 1884 and it still looks like it has many years ahead of it.
I've attached three photos. In the last one I am in the shot to
show scale.
