ENTS,

I was forced to delete most of the photos from the Google page. We were at our 100 MB limit. The missing photos will appear in the website as I update it in the next few days, so they are not long gone. Many of the photos were in the 4 to 5 MB range. This may be fine for a special image in which the high resolution is needed, but for a series of images, please resize them before uploading. Every photo editing program will allow resizing of images to something smaller.

Irfanview is a free photo editor available at: http://www.irfanview.net/

Using this program open the file you want to resize -- File -- Open -- then browse to find the image you want to resize.
Once the photo is open, select from the menu -- Image -- Resize/Resample Then go down to Set New Size. Type in the longest side the value 1000 (for 1000 pixels) Click on -- OK

Go to -- File -- Save As -- type in a new name (I usually just add an - a - to the end of the name) -- make sure the save location is where you want, then click -- Save. Now you have a file that is maybe 20x smaller than the original file. Post this smaller sized image to the discussion list. It isn't hard to do. Make sure you rename the new file so that you do not overwrite the original image. I often copy all of the files I want to edit to a new directory before editing, to make sure I don't accidentally ruin the original photo.
